Custodial history

Most of the records in this were transferred to the Laboratory of Archaeology (LOA) after the completion of the project in 1980. They were then separated by document type: Artifact catalogue, field notes, photographs, and maps, and maintained this way until 2011. In 2011, the fonds was reconstructed and another accrual was transferred from R. G. Matson to the LOA.

Scope and content

This fond contains five series: Notebooks, Analysis, Photographs, Syesis journal, and Maps. These records were created by R. G. Matson while excavating and later analyzing material from the Beach Grove archaeological site (DgRs-1). He was aided in his research by Deanna Ludowicz and his crew.
