Documentary material related to this fonds was donated by Dr. Brian Hayden on October 12th, 2011 to the Lab of Archaeology (LOA) and has remained under LOA’s custody since its transfer.
The collection of artifacts was donated by Dr. Brian Hayden on October 12th, 2011 to be added to the Museum of Anthropology’s permanent collection. MOA kept some of the collection, but most of the ethnographic lithics from Australia and the Corn Huskers from Mexico and a few other belongings were transferred to LOA’s collection.
Scope and content
This fonds consists of textual records which includes notes and publications from Brian Hayden. Works included are associated with Dr. Hayden’s lithics research in Australia, and the Mayan Highlands in Mexico and Guatemala. The fonds has been arranged into two series. Series 1 has been arranged into two files. The first file is a published book regarding lithic use among Aboriginal Australians. The second file contains several copies of academic publications regarding research conducted in the Mayan Highlands. Series 2 has been arranged into 1 file and contains collected handwritten field notes from Hayden’s expeditions in Mexico, Australia, and Guatemala.
