Administrative history
The Archaeological Society of British Columbia is BC-based charitable organization that serves to promote awareness and education about archaeology in the province. Founded in 1966, the ASBC historically promoted volunteer and non-university led excavations at several archaeological sites across British Columbia. This practice has since been discontinued and today the ASBC is most well-known for their quarterly journal, The Midden, as well as educational initiatives like lecture series and school talks.

Scope and content
This file consists of correspondence between R.R. Sutherland of the ASBC and L.J. Wallace, the Deputy Provincial Secretary at the time. The correspondence details their conversation about obtaining a permit for the ASBC’s work at DgRs-11 in 1969 and the ASBC’s submission of a final report to the provincial government in 1970. A thermofax copy of the permit is included.
